What is Backflow?
Backflow refers to the unwanted reversal of normal water flow, which can cause contamination of a healthy water supply.
A backflow device prevents drinkable water from being contaminated or polluted by non-drinkable water due to “backflow”. This device is strategically connected into the plumbing system wherever there is the possibility of contaminated water coming into contact with drinking water. Backflow devices must be inspected annually since they have many moving parts, to ensure they are working as they should and therefore protecting the water supply they are connected to.
Backflow work must be performed by a licensed plumberwith a specific backflow license who is also recognized and authorized by your local municipality. If you receive a letter of compliance from your municipality, contact us to schedule your surveys, inspections, annual device testing and device installations.
